I just ordered my second one, because it finally quit. I had it for 15 years, yes you read that correct. This particular dehydrator lasted fifteen years and it did NOT sit on a shelf in a closet. It got used a lot over the past fifteen years.
I also have all the acessories and those have been very useful, especially those that make the fruit rollup snacks. My kids loved them and still do as grown ups.
Needless to say, I can't wait for the new one to arrive, I have pears in the fridge waiting to be dehydrated.

| Since I have my dehydrator I've processed plenty of our aromatic and medicinal herbs, fruits and also made beef jerky. Now I prepare healthy snacks to take to work. Easy to use and clean. Great product! |

I use this dehydrator at the moment to dry peppers and herbs for making ground spices. It works well for those vegetables with thin skin, but struggles to do 4 trays full of Jalapenos, at an average of about 20-24 hours for a full dry for grinding. I would recommend this product for those just starting out as this product is affordable on any budget. The only drawback is that you don't have the freedom to walk away from the unit for a day like you could a crock pot and the power is somewhat lacking for what I require.
My next purchase is going to be the FD-75PR because I require the faster drying time for what I do. I refuse to buy from any other company because they can't even come close to matching the quality and features of Nesco. The customer service line is also extremely helpful and has the kind of operators that you want to talk to; kind and helpful. All the way around, there isn't a company that can compare with Nesco and the product line just can't be beat. |
