Steamed Vegetables - Jet Stream Oven

A variety of vegetables lend themselves to steaming in a foil pocket. Steaming in a pocket saves cleanup and calories. The pocket encases the food, sealing in flavor and nutrients.

Vegetables, whole, sliced or cut as desired
Water
Herbs and seasonings to taste
Aluminum foil - 1 square per serving

For each serving, shape a piece of aluminum foil into a cup-shaped pocket. Divide prepared vegetables among foil pockets. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons water per pocket and herbs and seasonings as desired.

Seal and steam on inverted rack in preheated Nesco®/American Harvest® Jet Stream Oven® at 400ºF on HIGH fan speed for 6-12 minutes or until tender.

Note of caution: Steam can cause severed burns. When lifting the lid, tilt away from you and let the steam escape before reaching or looking inside. Always pierce pocket before unsealing to allow steam to escape.
