CPSC, The Metal Ware Corporation Announces Recall of Deep Fryer Covers
In Cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Metal Ware Corporation is voluntarily recalling approximately 47,000 deep fryer covers. Deep frying of high moisture foods can trap excess moisture in the cover which can drain into the oil reservoir, causing the appliance to boil over, posing the risk of burns from hot oil spilling onto consumers.
The company has received 7 reports of hot oil spillage, including one report of a consumer requiring medical attention.
The recalled covers are a part of a deep fryer appliance that is sold under the NESCO brand name. The deep fryer has a stainless steel body and black plastic cover. The deep fryer models that use the recalled cover are listed below. The model number is located on the backside of the control panel, just above the power cord receptacle.
