Creamy Mashed Potatoes - 8 QT Slow Cooker

5 pounds russet potatoes (peeled, cut in 1 inch cubes)
3 - 3½ cups milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
salt and pepper
4 garlic cloves (optional)

Generously spray ceramic crock of your Nesco® Slow Cooker. Crush garlic cloves and add to ceramic crock with peeled and cut potatoes. Add salt and pepper. Pour in 1½ cups milk. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours or until potatoes are very soft.

Melt butter in microwave oven. Add remaining milk and heat to warm. Pour into ceramic crock. Remove garlic cloves if you wish. Use potato masher or hand blender to mash potatoes in crock until smooth and creamy.

Optional: You may substitute some of the milk by adding sour cream or plain greek yogurt
