Nesco®’s new FG-180 Food Grinder has a powerful 500 Watt motor, stainless steel cutting blade and comes with three grinding plates that offer you a choice of fine, medium or coarse grinds. This unit offers dependable performance with the power to grind, shred, and fill sausage casings allowing you to make your own variety of sausages, ground meat, sandwich spreads, and relishes. The FG-180 has a power indicator light, forward and reverse speeds and an easy to remove #5 grinder head. The oversized die-cast hopper holds up to 3 lbs. of meat. Perfect for processing Venison and other wild game into sausage, hamburger and other ground meat. Works great for grinding meat for you to make jerky, your own sandwich spread, relish, and appetizers.

The FG-180 features a lighted display and comes with a sausage stuffer, food pusher, three stainless steel plates and blade.

    My 1970’s manual grinder finally gave up the ghost when the suction pad deteriorated. I don’t regularly use the grinder so I was determined to not spend a lot of money on an electric replacement. After comparing grinders it became apparent to me that the price difference between a manual grinder and a mid range electric one wasn’t all that enormous, especially when I took into consideration the convenience factor. Of all the comparable units out there, I decided to go with the NESCO one because of the durability of my Garden Master dehydrator. Well, my FG-180 arrived yesterday, and today I was able to finish my grinding project. I can’t believe that I lived without this for so long! I was done in no time. I didn’t have to stop every few minutes to refill the hopper and my right arm doesn’t ache from manual grinding. When I did have to refill the hopper on the FG-180, I discovered that the power button is in a very convenient place; on top of the unit. It’s relatively quiet and a breeze to disassemble, clean and reassemble. I also appreciate the stainless steel plates and blade – unlike the mystery metal of my old grinder. Small things like the washers not coming off the auger and the storage compartment for the extras are a real plus, too. There are a couple features not mentioned in the product description that pleasantly surprised me. One is the red button on top. That is a switch to select low or high speed. The second is that it comes with a kebbe attachment. I have no idea what kebbe is, but I think I need to find out and make some!

    I received my FG 180 as a gift. My FG 180 along with my Food Saver made it possible for me to turn 4 lbs of thick pork chops into 4 pounds of ground pork for pork-bacon cheese burgers and pork stir fry. Thanks to all of you at NESCO, I will put my FG 180 to work on 4-6 lbs of chicken.
