The NESCO FD-1040 Gardenmaster Digital Pro Dehydrator is ideal for drying and preserving large amounts of fruits, vegetables, herbs and jerky. 1000 watts of drying power means you can dry more, faster. This dehydrator comes with four (15 1/2″ diameter) trays and expands up to 20 trays so you can dry large quantities at once, with no tray rotation needed. Additional Add-A-Trays sold separately. The adjustable digital temperature control (90°F -160°F) gives you the flexibility to achieve the best results when drying different foods that need varying temperature settings. The digital timer is programmable for up to 48 hours of drying time. The quiet, powerful Converga-Flow® fan forces heated air down the exterior pressurized chamber, then horizontally across each individual tray. The air flow then converges in the center for quick, consistent drying that is four times faster than other dehydrators. The top mounted fan eliminates liquids dripping into the heater chamber. I purchased this dehydrator a week ago and I can’t believe how good this is. I have dried beef jerky, grapes, cherries, fruit rollups so far. I had this kind of a model Model FD-1010 for years and years and finally the cover gave in. This one is all hard plastic and you can take the bottom off and wash it. The other model I had you couldn’t. Spend a little more money and get the good one. 1000 watts!

I purchased this dehydrator about a month ago. I have made about 10 lbs of jerky so far. My husband does not get excited over kitchen stuff usually but after making jerky for him to eat on his job (he is an inspector for the highway dept) I think I have rated very high with him. This dehydrator is so well made, works so easily and has turned into an appliance that I recommend to everyone. Nesco is a good company and I have already ordered extra trays and more seasoning. Everything came so quickly. They had me in business very fast. Their seasonings are wonderful too. I think with high food prices now everyone should try these dehydrators. The best kitchen toy around. Love it. I’ve dehydrated, tomatoes, onions,garlic, eggplant, corn, kale, basil, oregano, sage, carrots, to name a few. I like to grow my herbs and some vegetables too. I utilize this dehydrator to dry all kinds of herbs and vegetables also fruits, I especially like the bananas chips. To be stored in mason jars, in my pantry to be used as needed. I just received my Garden Pro today and immediately mixed up a pound of ground sirloin and squeezed out some jerky strips. After an hour I blotted the jerky to remove the grease and boy I can tell already how much faster it is drying out my meat than my other dehydrator I had. My other dehydrator was a Nesco too. My son bought it for me for my birthday back around either 2006 or 2007 and have made many batches of jerky. After 9 or 10 years it finally quit working. So I ordered this one. So far I am happy with it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is, this dehydrator makes a clicking noise every few seconds. I don’t know if it’s supposed to or not. I hope it doesn’t quit working.

Had it about a month now. I’ve made 5 batches of jerky. I bought two expansion trays and able to dry 6 trays of jerky in about 3 1/2 to 4 hrs. Very happy with unit. Going to try some fruit this weekend.
